| The week of December 10-14, 2001, Whittaker Elementary explored careers through character traits. All presenters discussed their careers, but as a way of teaching our students character traits, they also discussed character traits they use in their jobs.
Presenters discussed character traits such as respect, courtesy, punctuality, truthfulness and determination.

Each morning an announcement let you teachers know when and where to take their students. Students in grades Pre-K and K will learn about jobs at Kay-Bee Toys.
· Tuesday, December 11, 2001
Mrs. Hazel Rickenbacker, Career Counselor, discussed her job with students in second grade. Mr. Eric White, Manager at Bi-Lo, discussed his job with students in first grade.
· Wednesday, December 12, 2001
Dr. George E. Hicks, Professor at SC State University and Pastor of Shiloh AME Church discussed dual careers with students in second grade. Ms. Keisha Campbell, Head Women’s Basketball Coach from SC State University discussed her job with students in first grade. Mr. James Abraham, Manager of Pizza Hut Delivery discussed his job with students in Pre-K and K.
· Thursday, December 13, 2001
Ms. Stacy Cain, Manager of Cato’s Fashions, discussed her job with students in first grade. Mr. Bernard Haire, City of Orangeburg, Mayor Pro-tem, discussed his job with students in second grade.
· Friday, December 14, 2001
O’Cain’s Exotic Animals discussed the different jobs at the zoo for students in pre-K and K.
